A New Semester!

We’re so excited to be back for the start of the spring semester!

Over break, our sisters experienced so many places, whether that be somewhere cold, warm, or even cheering on the tide in the Rose Bowl. Sadly, we also said goodbye to our December grads, but we know they are all off to do great things!

Break was a great time to recharge from first semester and prepare for the spring, but we are all so excited to be back together in Tuscaloosa and we look forward to all of our upcoming events! We hope that everyone has an amazing semester!

Finals Week is Here!

Dead week has come and gone, and finals start tomorrow at the University of Alabama!

The end of the semester can be a busy and stressful time, so treat yourself by going on a walk, hanging out with friends, or just getting a coffee.

At DG, our programming team has given us some fun treats to help get us through dead week, like Celsius at the house, loaded teas, and even Christmas cookie decorating!

We’ve had an amazing semester with our sisters, and we will miss everyone over winter break!

Good luck to everyone on finals!

Welcoming in our new CMT

This week, we said goodbye to our old CMT and have welcomed in the new women who will be in charge of Delta Gamma for the next year. We are excited for what is to come as the new CMT transitions into their new roles! Happy Holidays from Delta Gamma, we will see you in the spring!

  • VP Membership – Becca Clay
  • VP Panhellenic – Kenzie Olvert

Congratulations MC’23!!!!

Over this past weekend, over 100 new members were initiated into Delta Gamma! Initiation is a ceremony where new members are brought into full membership of a sorority, and we can officially welcome them into the chapter.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance opportunity and we are so excited for all that’s in store. The Delta Gamma women cannot wait to watch our chapter thrive for years to come.

Anchor Games 2023

This year, Anchor Games was one for the books! This year Delta Gamma has raised over $15,000 for our philanthropy.

Congratulations to Sigma Tau Gamma for becoming the overall champions for this year! Coaches of the winning team said their favorite part of the process was, “getting to know members in other member classes as well as strengthening the bonds of other Greek organizations in the community.”

Thank you to everyone who came out to support and be involved in our biggest event of the year!

A Busy Few Weeks!

School has been ramping up the past few weeks, and with that said, we have gotten to welcome 147 new girls into Delta Gamma! We are excited to have them be a part of our sisterhood. Their first day was full of bonding. They started at the lake and ended with a silent disco party! The next day, DG planned our first sisterhood date party of the year hosted at Durid City Social. We are so excited for this semester and what’s to come!

Tips for Recruitment 2023

Making the decision to join a sorority can be intimidating, especially at a school like the University of Alabama. With many houses available, this decision can seem daunting at first. Delta Gamma has become home to many women throughout the years, making life-long friendships while growing up to prepare for the real world after everyone graduates!

Below are 10 simple tips to stay calm, cool, and collected during the week of recruitment!

  1. Be authentic. It seems cheesy but being yourself will allow conversation to flow and the nerves to settle.
  2. Stay hydrated. Keep water close by and stay out of the heat.
  3. Keep an open mind. We recommend being open to all houses on the row to be placed in the one you’re meant to be in!
  4. Ask questions! Asking questions will help provide a better idea of the sorority and learn more about your future home.
  5. Have fun with your outfits. Choosing outfits should be fun and stress-free. Be true to yourself and wear something that represents you!
  6. Get lots of sleep. Staying on your A-game is only possible by taking care of your body
  7. Get to Know Your Rush Counselor (Rho Chi). These women will help keep stress to a minimum and answer any questions you may have.
  8. Meet new people. Creating friends during the rush process can be fun and helpful to bond during recruitment.
  9. Try not to take things personally. Over 2,000 women have signed up for rush, and there are a lot of decisions to be made. Trust the process.
  10. Have fun! Recruitment should be a time to make friends and fun memories.

The women of Delta Gamma cannot wait to meet each one of you!

1,000 PNM’s

So far, there have been 1,000 girls from all over the country registered for Recruitment for Greek Life in August! As Delta Gamma women, we cannot wait to meet each one of you. We start work week on August 8th, preparing to meet all of the new PNMs! A week after that, women from all over will come to rush sororities to be placed in for the next four years of college.

Throughout the summer, DGs have been traveling all over the world with friends and family seeing new sights and creating new memories!

Recruitment Preparation Workshops

Throughout the semester, the sisters of Delta Gamma have been getting ready for recruitment in August! We spend a few hours each month working on the ins and outs of recruitment so we are as prepared as possible for when this week comes.

Our recruitment team has been working hard over the semester to help prepare MC 20,21 and 22 for one of the most important weeks of the year! For each RPW, we are given a theme to dress up for, posting on social media and getting excited for the new girls to arrive!

Some themes we have been given are “MC ’23 Your So Golden,” “Welcome to the Dreamhouse,” and “Galentines”!

MC’23, we are over the moon excited to meet each one of you, and were looking forward to the friendships that going to be made over the next 4 years!

Parents Weekend Recap!

This past weekend was parents’ weekend, and our sisters at Delta Gamma had a blast with their family members! Family flew in from all over the country for this event.

Friday started with family coming into town and spending time with their daughters. When Saturday rolled around parents experienced a crawfish boil at Druid City Social with a DJ and food trucks! On Sunday a brunch was hosted at the Yacht Club with bagels, fruit and muffins.

Thank you DG parents for coming this weekend, we are appreciative of you all!
